Myrtos: a lovely place in Crete

Hello!

This time last year I was traveling in Crete. It was an great trip I will always remember...I wanted to show every picture I've captured, but they are numerous! So I've picked one of my favorite places, Myrtos, a small village in south Crete.Take a look on the photographs, every one tells a story!

About ten days we were traveling among the half east of this beautiful island and we visited several towns, villages and many inaccessible archaeologigal sites.

In Crete is combined of many different kinds of landscapes; you can travel from sea sites to low hills and mountains and from plains to plateau and gorges. You will meet smilling and generous people and you will  taste the most delicious mediterranean food recipes.

Myrtos is nearby Ierapetra, in the south coast of Crete. It keeps its original character, a tradional atmosphere, far away from the common touristic landscape. That's why I loved this place!

If you would like to visit or learn more about Myrtos, use this and this link. As for me, I wish to go back one day!

                                                         Love,
                                                                     Triada

Recipe: Yogurt ice cream

Hello!

Last week I made a delicious homemade yogurt ice cream! It's absolutely tasteful, healthy and sooo easy to make!

     This is the recipe:
Ingredients

500 grams greek yogurt (I prefer 2% fat)
150 grams powdered sugar
150 grams heavy cream (I prefer light)
Zest of one lemon or orange

Just put all the ingredients in a big bowl and mix them up well. That's it!
Then pour this in an ice cream machine. If you don't have an ice cream maker, pour it in a big bowl or in some smaller bowls and keep it/them inside the freezer. Every half an hour open the freezer and mix it up again for few minutes. Do this 6 times (3 hours) in order to get ice cream more creamy texture.

Yogurt ice cream is very freshy and tastes great with fruit (like kiwi in the photos), chocolate, honey ect. I hope you will love it like I do!

TIP: To tell the truth, my freezer is too strong, so the the fisrt time I decided to taste the ice cream, I almost needed chisels and hammer to serve it... So, the next time I put the ice cream in small bowls and when I wanted to eat I just take   one of them out from the freezer and put it in the fridge for a couple of hours.

Love,

        Triada

Can't wait for Christmas!

Here I'm again! How are you?

We count 10 days till Christmas, so I've decided to write about an appropriate theme: ornament and gift ideas for last minute shopping inspired from Christmas style decor and food.

What I love the most about Christmas is the warm and sparkly atmosphere my home gets from the Christmas tree, the ornament, the candles and the...traditional desserts. So, I've picked some products from my favorite Etsy shops and here they are! Enjoy! :)))

Ornament: handmade ornament made with various materials like fabric, felt, metal, clay and glass instead of plastic are always unique and also art objects that you may keep for many many years. My mother lived in Chech Republic many years ago. When she moved out and came back to Greece, she brought with her a Christmas ornament collection, which, even nowdays, I admire hanged from the fir tree when I visit my parents. Glass drop shaped, handpainted, wooden,ect....I would need several posts only to describe them!

Gift ideas: jewelry and housewares inspired from Christmas are a nice idea; seasonaly, but on the other hand  very special. I have some pieces like these in my jewelry collection.

FASHION: Bohemian style!

Hello, I'm Triada! I have just started this blog and this is my first post! The theme was idea of a good friend and great artist, Katerina (DevineDecadance).

Boho Chic is a hot fashion theme for spring 2013!...but, what actually is boho?

THE BOHO STYLE

It’s easy to recognize when you see it, but complicated and difficult  to get dressed like this…successfully. The truth is that's a very mixture style, which combines a lot of styles itself.  Casual and modern chic goes along with folk, ethnic and vintage wear. Moreover, it’s absolutely stylish and adorable but doesn’t fit to everyone’s personality.

Boho is represented by a variety of colors. Natural and earthy tones are best. There is a bit of bright colors, but also this year creamy, pastel and white are on top; many fashion designers like Salvatore Fearragamo (above) and Rae Francis (below) use them as basic to create their collections.

Natural materials, like cotton fabrics and leather; beads, crochet, feathers, metallic details make the boho dream real.

THE BOHEMIAN PEOPLE

Bohemian style is characterized as unique and artistic. It’s all about looking natural but very feminine too. Furthermore, bohemian dressed people have their own powerful style, they are close to nature and also supporters of handmade, because they pick extraordinary clothes and unique accessories instead of the mass produced fashion.
I picked some of my favorite boho style items on Etsy and here they are!

HOW TO GET DRESSED BOHO

Clothes: short leather jackets, big coats, casual jeans, patchwork skirts, oversized blouses, long gypsy style skirts, very short and long dresses, floral printed outfits.

StellarVintique

Accessories:  belts, hats, silk scarfs, cotton handbags and shoulder bags.

Jewelry: plenty of bracelets, ankle bracelets, mix-and-match and long necklaces, and dangling earrings. Metal, crochet, fabrics, leather, wood and beads are some of the key elements of this jewelry.

Hair accessories: There's headbands, clips and barrettes for your hair.

Shoes: Comfortable style shoes like flats, sandals, leather cowboy style boots, boots with fringes and platform shoes.

TIP: Clothing and accessories are equally important for a bohemian look. If the clothes are the canvas, the accessories are the colors to paint the boho picture!

Thank you!
